Starting his musical career as a DJ in Autumn 1996, in the mid-2000s, long before filmmaking was a going concern, Al Carretta was firmly focused on regional gig promotion. Working with agents such as Primary Talent International and showcasing NME favoured bands such as 'The Others', 'The Race' and 'C/O/R/D' around 70 gigs were staged between 2006 and 2009, in the iconic, now closed, Gillingham venue The Beacon Court Tavern.
Fast forward to 2019 and Carretta has overseen the delivery of an original soundtrack for each of the 13 feature films produced by Nightpiece since 2010. Totalling more than 150 tracks, productions have featured artits such as lead guitarist Lak Bangar and vocalists such as Rowena, Luke Dalton, Emma Shearer-Hackett and rapper The Lucid Fox.
